NEW HAVEN -- A longstanding fixture in New Haven will host one final event before it's torn down.

On Wednesday night an independent film crew will use the New Haven coliseum as the scene of a police chase ending with an explosion.

The coliseum is scheduled to be demolished later this month. It opened in 1971 as a state-of-the-art facility, but as other buildings opened in New England promoters began to choose those other venues.
